For those of you lucky enough to be in New Orleans or another location where Mardi Gras is celebrated in its proper and glorious form, then you're well aware that today is Fat Tuesday and tomorrow is the start of Lent.
The person who gets the slice with the baby is King or Queen of the day — and has to supply the cake at the next gathering. In some circles, it implies that the person who gets the baby will be the next person to have a child.
